Polywood is an American made company that has been the leading manufacturer of recycled plastic furniture since it was established in 1990, by two high school friends. Doug Rassi and Mark Philabaum, from Northern Indiana, made an impact in the outdoor furniture industry with one simple question, “what happens to all the milk jugs that get recycled?” This led to the production of patio chairs, chaise lounges, and poolside tables made of heavy-duty recycled lumber. Recycled plastic quickly began to replace traditional wooden models for durability and longevity, as well as its positive impact on the environment.
