The Mankato play structure offers numerous opportunities for children to explore and have fun. One of its standout features is the spacious hexagon-shaped area, covered by a Hex Roof, which serves as the main play area. This section can be accessed from the adjacent platform through the Tube Bridge. In addition, children can reach the hexagon area by climbing any of the three attached climbers: Pod Climber, Spiral Climber, and Vertical PE Rock Climbing Wall. There are also various interactive elements in this area, such as the Gear Panel and a 4-foot Straight Slide. The floor of the hexagon area is divided into triangular sections of varying heights, providing natural spaces for children to sit and socialize. On the other side of the structure, across the Tube Bridge, there is a Double Slide and a metal barrier equipped with a Ship’s Wheel. Below the Ship’s Wheel, on the ground level, there is a Half Math Panel where children can practice writing and solving simple math equations. This play structure not only provides endless hours of fun, but it also meets national standards for safety and accessibility, with a capacity for 37-43 children aged 2-12 years. The fall height is 48", post diameter is 3.5 inches, and the designated safety zone is 28' 8" x 29'. It is also ADA accessible, with 8 components elevated and 3 components on ground level.
