 Lights! Camera! Commercial Grade Furniture?

Over the years we have had the privilege of working with several television and movie production studios to provide our authentic park and pool furniture to display on their sets.  Today you will find our products on TV shows such as Better Call Saul, Blacklist, The Man in the High Castle, and Shrill. Just recently our fiberglass top umbrellas were selected to be part of a set in the movie The Irishman starring Robert De Niro, soon to be released in 2019.

In Hollywood, things run fast and meeting the high demands/deadlines proved to be a minor challenge however in each case we sprang into action to come up with efficient solutions for each request. Whether a studio needed them to be shipped next day for an upcoming shoot or needed unique color combination to match their location each order was quickly processed, shipped out, and delivered within the necessary timelines, often times clear across the country!

Needless to say, it was an honor to get a small peek behind the scenes and work with cutting-edge production companies such as Paladin Productions, Villa Roma, and High Bridge Productions. We look forward to seeing the movie and tv show sets created with our chaise lounges, patio dining chairs, umbrellas, bleachers, and more in the upcoming episodes! Keep an eye on your favorite TV shows as you never know where you might spot us next!

Dog Parks - What is Needed When Establishing a New Dog Park?

What is Needed When Establishing a New Dog Park

What is Needed When Establishing a New Dog Park?

Furniture Leisure has conducted extensive research across the states to assist project managers and park developers in the creation of fully functionality park. One type of park that has been gaining more traction in today’s lifestyle is the dog park. Within recent years, dog parks have been popping up across the country at a staggering 34% increased rate. This doesn’t seem as surprising our recent studies shows, that 44% of all American families own dogs. To put this in better perspective, there are more American households that own a dog than there are with a child. With the heightened popularity, many cities are budgeting to establish their own local dog parks. This is great news as there are many areas that would benefit from a leash free park to take their pets, whether it be for socialization, health, or bonding. But what exactly is needed when developing a new dog park? Below is a list of some of the things to include in your new dog park, whether it be for safety, necessities, or fun.

Safety

When creating a dog park the safety and well-being of the dogs and their owners is the first priority. There may not be a way to prevent every incident, but certain precautions can be taken to avoid most.

Multiple Enclosures -  Dogs are predatorial, territorial animals that can become aggressive when excited, provoked, or scared. Even the tamest dogs can become dangerous in the wrong situation. To avoid a potentially fatal circumstance, it would be safer to include multiple enclosures within the dog park for such categories as small, large, and new dog areas.

If a fight were to ensue, less damage would be done if the combatants were around the same size. Mutual combat gives the owners more time to break up the fight without critical outcomes. However, a small dog would always be outmatched to his bigger opponent. There have been misfortune situations were larger dogs even mistake a smaller dog for a chew toy.

Dog Park - Multiple Enclosures

For this reason, it is important to have separate enclosures for small and large dogs. Most dog parks have these sections but go by weight. However, it may be more logical to go by the shoulder height of the dog instead. For example, a Basset Hound and a Siberian Husky have a difference of 1/2 foot in height but share the same weight ranging from 40 to 60 lbs. One of the best policies is to create a shoulder height sign for about 14” tall to enforce the small dog size requirement. Note that the enclosures for small and large dogs should not be equal. The small dog enclosure should be approximately 1/3 the size of the large dog area. Smaller dogs, smaller area.

New dogs can feel thrilled or terrified when entering a new place and may not behave as appropriately as they would at home. Creating a special space that would allow the rookie to become comfortable within his new environment can introduce welcoming results or reveal potential problems. New dog enclosures should share the same fencing as the small and large dog area, so the new dog can interact with the veterans on the other side, without incident. Once the owner feels their dog is ready, they can move into their respective area and enjoy the freedom of the dog park. This enclosure shouldn’t take up much of the dog park, just enough for the largest dog to feel comfortable.

Multiple Entrances – Having just one entry for each enclosure can result in dogs and owners congesting in one spot. This could cause the dog to feel claustrophobic, defensive, or threatened. To avoid this intimidating bottleneck, multiple exits should be established for convenience.

Rules and Regulations –  No one likes rules, but no one wants to visit a chaotic dog park either. Rules are made to ensure the safety and happiness of all its guests. Below are common Dog Park Rules that are often used to enforced order in Dog Parks:

  • No Food – Dogs can become aggressive and will fight over food.
  • No Dogs in Heat – Male dogs can become aggressive. Also, unwanted litters may occur.
  • Dogs Must Have Up to Date Vaccinations and Wear Current Tags – This hinders the spread of disease and provides all information needed, encase of incidents.
  • Owners Must be in the Enclosure and Have Control of Their Dog At All Times -This ensures all dogs are properly supervised, while they are off the leash. An owner should be close enough to their dog to correct when/if necessary.
  • Dogs Who Bark Continuously or Are Aggressive Should Be Removed – For the safety and comfort of all the dogs and their owners.
  • Owners are Responsible for Any Injury or Damage Caused by Their Dog – The dog owner of an aggressive dog must cover all damages including veterinarian bills if deemed responsible.  A dog owner may also be responsible for the repair of any property damaged by their dog.
  • Owners Must Dispose of Pet Waste Immediately in the Appropriate Bins – Promotes a clean environment and avoids the spread of disease.
  • Children Must be Supervised at All Times – Some dogs do not like children or strangers in their face. Keep kids in control to keep them safe.
  • No More Than 2 Dogs Per Person on Any Single Visit – Each person only has two hands, so they can only control two dogs.
  • Puppies 4 months and younger are not permitted - For the protection of the puppy and all the other dogs against certain diseases, such as canine parvovirus.
  • Use The Dog Park at Your Own Risk – No matter how many precautions are set in place, incidents can still occur. The owner is putting his safety and safety of his pet at risk from uncertainties.
  • Leash Your Dog Before Leaving the Area – This prevents the dog from running off and causing harm to others or to himself.
  • Dog Agility Equipment is Not To Be Use To Conduct Business – The agility equipment should be for anyone’s use, not for the use of professional trainers to conduct their business.

Dog Park Essentials

EssentialsDogipot Pet Waste Station

A fenced plot of land is only the beginning of establishing a dog park. There are certain items that need to be included within the grounds to make the dog park more functional.

Doggy Stations – It is critical to keep the grounds free of dog waste. Not only is it good manners, but it helps reduce the risk of diseases and internal parasites. Doggy Stations need to be available and stocked with dog waste bags at all times, throughout the park for owners to clean up after their pets. Multiple stations conveniently placed around the grounds will speed up the process of picking up and disposing of the dog waste. Let’s face it, no one likes to step in poop or even worse, have their dog roll around in it. YUCK!

Shade Structures and Trees – Shade in the dog park, whether natural or artificial, is important for the safety of the visiting pets. Unlike us humans, who sweat all over our bodies, dogs can only sweat in areas not covered in fur, such as the pads of their paws or their nose. They rely more on panting to keep the temperature of their bodies cool. This is done by rapidly taking in cooler air and exhaling their hot puppy breath. However, on a hot sunny day and an overly exhausted pooch, panting may not be enough to keep their cool. This may put them at a dangerous risk of heat stroke that will require immediate treatment. To avoid this whole scenario and keep dogs along with their owners comfortable, shade should be established in designated areas of the park for a pleasant cooldown. Shade trees, such as Oak and Maple, are great for producing significant relief. Artificial shade, such as shade structures, are also an option when big shady trees are absent.

Water Fountains – Another great way to cool down a hot canine is to keep them hydrated with a source of fresh cool water. Water should be available at all times at any park, but more so for a park that has hot dogs running around. Dog water fountains are a great way to provide water to both dogs and their masters. Just like water fountains found at playgrounds, these dog fountains are just a button away from clean refreshing water. These dog fountains feature multiple tiers of water access, so all dogs can reach. They can be quite pricey but are worth the comfort and convenience. Water bowls with an accessible tap should at least be available if nothing else.

Open Areas – Dog parks must have a flat open area in both the small and large dog enclosures. Most people, who visit dog parks do so because they don’t have a yard or big enough yard for their dog to run around in. This allows dogs to run freely, chase each other, and enjoy the grass under their feet. Open areas also give an owner the opportunity to bring a ball or frisbee for a game of fetch for a fun physical activity with their dog.

Shrubs – From their primal instincts, dogs will urinate on certain things to mark their territory. Shrubs and bushes allow them to do their business in more isolated, controlled areas. This may not stop them from going in other places like on fellow owner’s shoes, but it is more impactful. Not to mention bushes and shrubs will look nice throughout the park, even if they are intended as doggie restrooms.

Elevated Fencing – Typically dog park include fencing that is 5-ft in height. However, a large dog filled with pent-up energy can clear a 5-ft. chain link fence with ease, if he sees something interesting on the other side. This could create hazardous situations as dogs in the adjacent areas can be harmed or the escapee can run into a busy road. An 8-ft. chain link fence is highly recommended, if possible, to avoid this type of calamity. It is also important to ensure that the fence goes all the way to the ground, without any possible breaches for smaller dogs to slip through.

Benches or Picnic Tables – Dogs love to socialize and relax, while they enjoy their time at the dog park. This is no different from their owners. By providing benches or picnic tables, people can have a place to put their belongings, rest, and talk to fellow dog owners as their dog pals around.

Dog Park Bench

Parking Spaces -  Like any public area, parking accommodations need to be taken into consideration. The size and projected popularity of the dog park will determine the number of spaces needed. Always remember to include handicap spots.

Posted Guidelines and Rules – The safety rules and regulations need to be displayed on robust signs at least on every entrance to the park. Be sure that the information is written with simple, precise verbiage to avoid any confusion. Leaving contact numbers, such as dog park maintenance and the local animal control, can help owners report and rectify incidents quickly. Hours of operation should be clearly posted.

Fun Dog Parks

Fun Additions

With all the essential established, it’s time to add the fun features that make the dog park more appealing to dogs and their owners. By adding these extras, the dog park will become a popular social experience for both man and canine.

Agility Equipment – Agility equipment at a dog park is a cost-efficient way that allows dogs to bond with their owners while using their natural instincts. Dogs have thrived for centuries by hunting prey and in doing so had to overcome certain obstacles, such as bobbing and weaving through trees and bushes, climbing rocks, jumping over logs, and digging through bunny burrows all within a small-time frame for a meal. Today, dogs can participate in a different kind of sport that can hone these skills on an obstacle course using equipment like Hurdles, Hoops, Stepping Platforms, Climbers, and Weave Poles. With the guidance of their masters, dogs will navigate through the course with quickness and dexterity. This isn’t only a fun hobby for the dog and master, but a great activity to keep both parties in shape.

Agility Equipment

Wet and Drying Areas – Most breeds of dog love to play in the water. They enjoy running, pawing, rolling, biting, an all-around having a grand old time getting soaked. Whether it has splash zones or a shallow pool, dog parks with water features tend to be more popular than those that don’t. Wet areas are more expensive to establish and maintain but are worth the cost, especially in warmer climate areas and bigger cities. If a wet area is included in a dog park, a dry area is a necessity as owners don’t want to load up a dripping pooch in their car. Dry areas should be open for sundry with a concrete floor and maybe a hose or shower space to wash off any dirt the dogs may have acquired.

Wet Area Dog Park

Dirt Areas – Back to primal instincts, many dogs have the urge to dig holes. In the wild, dogs would dig to create a den for their pups, have a place to cool down, hunt for food, or hide food from other predators to dig up and enjoy later.  Having a dirt area in the dog park will satisfy the dogs need to dig, which would not otherwise be allowed in the families’ backyard. Make sure the dirt area isn’t next to the fence or that the fence is reinforced with concrete to prevent digging underneath.

IAAPA Expo 2017 - Furniture Leisure Goes to the Orange County Convention Center to Support their Commercial Grade Products

IAAPA Expo 2017 - Furniture Leisure Goes to the Orange County Convention Center to Support Their Commercial Grade Products

Lights, Crowds, and Bouncy Houses! The Orange County Convention Center was filled with these and much more as the IAAPA Attractions Expo displayed the latest and greatest in the amusement and recreational industries. From carnival games to theme park rides, popcorn stands to picnic tables, IAAPA delivered hundreds of different booths and vendors showing off their exciting state of the art products.

The staff of Furniture Leisure, was on the scene as honorary members to support their attending vendors as they represented their commercial grade products.

Kay Park spared no expense with the outdoor amenities in their booth. Their 3-Row Tip and Roll Bleachers was the product to turn heads with its bright red seats on an aluminum frame. We learned that Kay Park had upgraded the skid on the feet of the Tip-N-Roll bleachers from wood to recycled plastic for better floor protection during relocation.  A Blue Expanded Metal Thermoplastic 32 Gallon Trash Receptacle with Black Dome Top was comically taped shut due to patrons often mistaken it as a normal convention trash can and not a display model. Furniture Leisure’s very own smooth Round Fiberglass Picnic Table with Black Powder Coated Frame sat beautifully in Royal Blue. It was exciting to find that other color styles are now available for this already attractive picnic table: Granite-Look and Glitter. The Outdoor Charcoal Park Grill with Flip Grate and 360-degree rotating base remained cool during the convention but proudly held the Kay Park Catalog. Their Two Passenger Paddle Boat took the spotlight with its sparkling new Blue Glittered finish.

Nardi’s North American Distribution SIT, proudly exhibited their brilliant Italian style with a large collection of their plastic resin commercial pool furniture. The Omega and Atlantico Chaise Lounge sat invitingly in the front of the booth with their stunning Mandarino and Blue breathable slings.  It was fascinating to note the Omega Chaise Lounge, which was just as strong as it’s Atlantico brother, but didn’t contain any metal hardware! In short, as long as the sling stays above the water, the Omega chaise lounge can be placed in the pool. Their Patio Chairs included the Bora, Bit, Net, Ponza, and Riva. These dining chairs are truly better appreciated in person. From their online pictures, you will notice these plastic resin chairs feature a slender, stackable frame that is made of one solid piece of 100% composite resin. What you can’t do is feel how these seemingly dainty looking legs give no signs of folding under any sort of pressure. They had the strength of metal, but with the comfortably contoured sensation of plastic. You could instantly feel the quality of the material and know why these chairs are the top seller in their class. The Delta and Darsena Folding Chairs gave just as well of a performance with the use of their moveable frames. No Nardi collection is complete without a matching dining table and they made sure to bring the goods in that category as well. They presented the Spritz, Cube, and Clip, which are the best outdoor patio tables made of 100% plastic resin that you can buy. The Rodi cocktail table was also present to complement the chaise lounges.

Nardi IAAPA Booth

Telescope Casual was showing off their new and exciting 2018 brand of Marine Grade Polymer products. They introduced their sleek Jetset Café Dining Chairs which featured a smooth, colorful MGP back and seat on a lightweight aluminum frame. What was instantly notice is that these chairs were heavier than your standard café chair. This would make a great outdoor dining chair in high wind areas, where other chairs are more likely to be blown away. Another new addition to their MGP line was the Armless Bazza Bench, which made great seating next to the rectangular patio table. The very popular Gardenella Sling and Reliance Strap Chaise Lounges made their debut presenting both textured and smooth powder coated finishes on their aluminum frames. Between the chaise lounges were Rectangular Chaise Lounge tables, one with an obscure acrylic top and the other embossed. Both had the perfect set of dimensions, long and narrow for arm length access from a standard chaise lounge while still being the ideal height. The frame was made from lightweight aluminum but welded together for the strongest possible performance.  Nearby, the Comfortable Aruba Armless Sling Bar Chair next to a Bar Height Table. On the other side of the booth was the alluring Ashbee cushion sectional, complete with ottoman and coffee table.

Leisure Craft was the last vendor we visited, but their booth didn’t disappoint with a display of the best outdoor thermoplastic furniture. Everything you could ever need for Outdoor Restaurant Seating with a metal frame was there for demonstration. Taking up a great portion of space was a blue 6 ft. Y Base ADA Expanded Metal Picnic Table with dual side entrance. To the left was a red customized expanded metal bench that had a black portable frame. Behind the bench was a Trash Receptacle with an arched lid and a sign stating the trash can was on display only. Adjacent were a few heavy-duty bar height tables, barstools, and chairs sporting their polyethylene coating. Leisure Craft also introduced their new stadium bar height drink rails.

All in all the IAAPA Expo was a fantastic experience, filled with fun and information. The vendors and products are better appreciated in person than on screen. Commercial grade is a term often thrown around in the industry, but these products have earned the title. It was rewarding to put the durability of the outdoor furniture to the test and refreshing to sit in the commercial grade pool furniture that will stand stronger and longer than any product sold at your local retail store. New customers, whether it be at a theme park, resort, cruise line, or local park, can rest assured that these products will exceed their expectations for many years to come!

Supporting Hurricane Relief
Supporting Hurricane Relief

As you may know, Furniture Leisure is located in Bunnell, FL just south of the nation’s oldest city St. Augustine. We witnessed firsthand the power of Hurricane Irma and understand how immense and destructive these storms can be. Thankfully our area did not take a direct impact and all of our employees returned safely with minimal damage reported. Others in Florida, on the other hand, were not so lucky and this hurricane season has been particularly devastating to the Florida Keys, Houston, and now Puerto Rico. In response to these disasters, we plan to donate a percentage of all sales for the remainder of the hurricane season (November 30th) towards relief efforts in those areas. Giving back to the community has been and always will be a pillar upon which Furniture Leisure is built.

Prepping and Securing your Outdoor Furniture for Natural Disasters
Prepping and Securing your Outdoor Furniture for Natural Disasters

On August 25th, Hurricane Harvey strengthened into a Category 4 storm bringing catastrophic winds, storm surges, and flash floods to the Texas coast. Many businesses have been destroyed in the storm's wake, while hundreds of stranded residents had to be rescued from their homes due to rising waters. This has left the state with an estimated $70 billion dollars worth of property damage over the course of a weekend from major flooding from levee breaches.

Approximately one week later, catastrophic damage was dealt to Barbuda, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin, Anguilla, and the Virgin Islands as the massive Hurricane Irma barreled through as a Category 5. The Florida Keys also received a heavy hit as Hurricane Irma proceeded to cause a minimum of $50 billion in economic damages as a Category 4 before scaling up Florida’s west coast.

Hurricane Harvey Storm Surge           Following Hurricane Irma, on September 20th, Puerto Rico was ravaged by another Category 5 as Hurricane Maria completely destroyed the remaining electrical grid leaving no access to clean water and an additional $90 billion in damages.

Nearly one month before on July 23rd, a flash flood rampaged through Kirby Park in Nichols, New York, leaving the park virtually destroyed. Major structures and the pavilion remain intact, however slides were left completely damaged and furniture such as picnic tables, including one concrete table, drifted away nearly the full length of the park. Volunteers were called in to help with the cleanup and restoration of the park for the people within the small village.

Kirby park damage

It’s hard to predict when and where these major disasters will strike and even harder to prepare for when they do. There are certain precautions that can be taken to help protect your property; however, there are no definite solutions to shelter investments from these naturally occurring phenomena.

Precautionary Actions

Bring Property Inside

Hurricanes can be extremely devastating, but luckily are very slow and to some extent predictable. Typically, the coast receives most of the threat from high winds, beach erosion, and strong storm surges. Though most hotels, business, and homeowners in these areas understand the precaution that needs to be addressed before the upcoming storm, it cannot be stressed enough of the importance of bringing any lightweight property inside before it gets too intense.

Furniture such as poolside chairs, umbrellas, tables, and chaise lounges need to be brought indoors before the hurricane winds turn them into projectiles. This is not only damaging to the furniture but harmful to nearby properties with glass or boarded windows, as they can potentially be stuck by these 10 lbs. missiles being hurled by winds speed at least 74 mph. Pool furniture can be thrown in the pool in desperate situations as the water will prevent the furniture from becoming airborne. However, this may lead to water damage to the furniture and will be much harder to heave out afterward, while avoiding debris. Other portable furniture such as benches and trash receptacles also need to be taken inside, if possible, due to the risk of being knocked down and swept away.

pool furniture hurricane preparation

Hurricane season for the Atlantic side starts on June 1st and can run until November 30th with August, September, and October being the peak months. Watch your local weather station for updates on your location and prepare accordingly. Don’t wait until the last minute, as procrastination can have costly consequences.

Anchor Larger Property

Flash floods are sometimes not as easy to foresee. These sudden rapid waters usually occur from heavy rainfall or quick ice and snow melt in low-lying geographic areas. Even large property can be picked up and swept away for miles from strong currents, often leaving it in a state of disrepair. This natural disaster often comes with no warning or time for preparations, so the best course of action is to plan in advance for those in affected areas. By anchoring larger, heavier furniture, whether it is to the ground, a surface, or a fixed object like a tree, it will give the property a chance to survive the ordeal unharmed. Solid furniture may also have a better likelihood to survive.

picnic table flood

Outdoor furniture with in-ground mounts, such as grills, picnic tables, and benches, often have a great advantage when it comes to stability and permanent placement. The extra weight from the concrete and surrounding grounds won’t allow the current to easily uproot and take the property away. In addition, the heavy-duty narrow metal frames that are often associated with inground outdoor furniture doesn’t give the water much mass to push, avoiding a majority of the flood’s strength.

Like inground mounts, surface mounted furniture that are secured to a concrete slab, often can hold their placement during a flood or high winds to avoid damage. High flood tides have little impact on tightened hardware that is fastened low to the ground. Portable furniture can be attached to a grounded object, such as a mounted pole or a well establish tree to prevent harm. Chains are the best solution as it is not easily weakened by water, however, ropes with a thick diameter will also work.

Flooded Picnic Table

Concrete furniture can also be impervious to certain disasters. Even if it is not attached to the ground, the mass alone will, more than likely, keep the property stationary during strong winds and most flooding. The average concrete picnic table contains over 700 lbs. of solid concrete and rebar, approximately the same weight of a small boulder. Additionally, concrete is a sturdy, water-resistant material that has a better chance of weathering a storm than other alternative materials.

Concrete Picnic Tables

Despite taking all necessary care and choosing the best equipment to withstand flash floods and devastating winds, the furniture is only as stable as the ground its secured to. If the ground becomes too soft or if the currents are too strong, there are no definite ways to save your investments from Mother Nature’s strength. Debris is also an unpredictable hazard when it comes to protecting outdoor furniture. As stated before, if the water has limited mass to push, the frame will avoid most of the flood’s power. However, if uprooted trees and fallen limbs drift along the relentless currents and get snagged on the fixed furniture, this could cause damage or give enough leverage to budge and weaken the secured mounts. Even concrete tables and benches can drift away in extreme circumstances, as they did in Kirby Park’s flooding.

With these situations, it is always better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. By making early provisions, you can prevent some damage to your property and protect yourself from otherwise avoidable hardships.

Customer Connections - Batesville Furniture
Customer Connections - Batesville Furniture

     Customer Connections - Batesville Furniture

In the almost 15 years since we began providing superior commercial grade furnishings online, we have had the honor to serve thousands of properties all over the USA and even abroad! This includes Parks, Hotels, Schools & Universities, Government Facilities, Offices, Shopping Malls, Amusement Parks and much more. Places large and small that we all visit in our daily lives. Sometimes we work with customers who are just opening a new business and other times we get to work with some of the oldest institutions in our country such as Duke University. Because of these numerous connections, we thought we’d like to profile some of our current and former customers in a new blog series entitled “Customer Connections”. This series will cover the broad range of customers that we serve and document how we assisted them in completing their projects and enhancing their business or location.

Batesville Furniture

The first “customer connection” in this series will focus on our partnership with Batesville Furniture in Arkansas to help furnish the newly opened Community Center and Aquatics Park in Batesville, Arkansas. Furniture Leisure had the pleasure to partner with Mr. Charles Covington of Batesville Furniture to secure the bid and complete the project. This process began way back in July of 2016 when Charles called our office and spoke to the head of the sales department, Charlene Schwarz. At this stage, the community center project was still being put out to bid and several companies were competing for the business.

Furniture Leisure Sample Kit          This is where we stepped in and Charlene provided Mr. Covington with all necessary pricing, product information, and tools to make an effective presentation to the city's board. After discussing which product types were needed we sent a customized sample kit containing catalogs and materials from multiple product lines to showcase a variety of different options. This allowed the city to review the different types of products and materials, comparing their quality completely risk-free. Some of the materials contained in the sample kit were umbrella fabrics, umbrella poles, thermoplastic coated steel, recycled plastic pieces, and more.

In addition to the sample kit, we provided Mr. Covington with complimentary furniture to display at his presentations. A full recycled plastic picnic table was provided and delivered to demonstrate the quality of the leading recycled plastic furniture in the industry. We also provided Mr. Covington with one of the most popular umbrellas in the industry, the 7.5 ft. octagonal patio umbrella with fiberglass ribs. This allowed the board to understand the true value of the solution dyed marine grade fabric canopy and flexible fiberglass ribs. We also sent a metal-thermoplastic steel bench seat to demonstrate the plastic coating. Together this provided Mr. Covington with plenty of material to make an effective presentation. After many meetings with the city's board, Mr. Covington was successfully awarded the bid for the outdoor dining and seating areas and Batesville Furniture took on the job to supply the new Batesville Community Center with their outdoor furniture.

Batesville Waterpark

Following the city's final decision, we worked closely with Mr. Covington and provided several quote revisions to stay within the budget. One of the main goals was to provide as much seating as possible for the waterpark without compromising quality. A dozen of our popular 46" round expanded metal picnic tables were picked to furnish most of the areas outdoor dining needs. To accommodate those with disabilities, four of the ADA compliant models of the 46" round picnic table were added. For larger parties, six of the 8 ft. rectangular picnic tables were included in the order along with two ADA versions with wheelchair access on both ends. Sixteen 4 ft. portable expanded metal benches would supply the rest of the seating for the park, with a total capacity of 64 adults. Everything included, Mr. Covington was able to accommodate seating for over 200 guests to meet the water park's outdoor dining needs, including ADA accessibility. Additionally, twelve matching 32 gallon expanded metal trash receptacles were ordered as the water park's primary outdoor waste management system. Six 7.5 ft. Catalina fiberglass ribbed patio umbrellas, similar to the one provided for the presentation to the city, were added along with matching 50 lb. aluminum umbrella bases. Finally, three 72" Chippendale recycled plastic benches furnished the entrance of the Community Center and completed the total order for the new community center.

Lead time for the total order was 3-4 weeks and it was scheduled to be shipped on time, however, due to delays in the water park's completion, the Batesville's Aquatics Center asked that we hold the order until construction was complete. We agreed and warehoused their order until Mr. Covington was able to give us a final shipping date. After a few weeks, we received the approval to ship the complete order, which arrived on time and without any damages or incidents.

A few days after the delivery, Charlene contacted Mr. Covington with our routine customer courtesy follow up. These follow-ups give us the perfect opportunity to get valuable feedback from our customers regarding their delivery experience, the satisfaction of the products, and to answer any further questions that they may have about their products. Mr. Covington along with the city of Batesville were very pleased with their order stating, "Everything looks great!" They even added an additional order of 6 patio umbrellas. Batesville Furniture graciously provided us with beautiful pictures of the newly furnished community center, weeks before the official grand opening. The light blue polyethylene coating on the picnic tables, benches, and trash receptacles, along with the marine grade fabric on the umbrella, coordinated perfectly with the water park's color scheme. Additionally, all products are covered by multi-year warranties, so the citizens of Batesville will surely be enjoying their furniture for years to come!
